Well, not exactly military army... Another kind of army.
A lot of my friends (most of them, really) were very confused to me nowadays. It's like I changed into another complete person after this particular "incident". To not waste your time wondering what the fuck am I talking about, let me just cut this straight into business.
I stan K-Pop...... BTS specifically. Only them.
A.R.M.Y (아미) which stands for Adorable Representative M.C for Youth is what BTS call their fandom. I can officially say I am one of their fans. Hardcore fans, to be exact.
WHAT? SINCE WHEN? HOW? BUT... WHY?
OH NO, NOW SUSAN IS GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE TRASH FANS WHO SPAMS HER BIAS EVERYWHERE ON HER SOCIAL MEDIA. I BETTER UNFOLLOW QUICK BEFORE I SEE ALL HER BULLSHIT.
GUILTY AS CHARGED, BUT WAIT. LET ME AT LEAST EXPLAIN MYSELF WHY ME; OR BASICALLY ANY OTHER FANS DID THAT.
It's because BTS deserved it!!
But what the fuck??? Aren't they just like any other stupid kpop idols; this is stupid. Imma close this I'm not interested/// is what you probably thought and before even continuing reading this post you just close it right away.
Jesus Christ, open your fucking mind and listen at least once.
Before I jump into a pool of thousand compliments as to why I stan (stalk and fan) them so much, I will tell you the day that I unconsciously got converted.
= SKIP PAST TO RED LINE IF YOU JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY DOES BTS DESERVES ALL THE SPOTLIGHT THEY GOT SO MUCH =
It was that one day when I was casually scrolling my Twitter timeline when I saw one of my long-converted internet friends were spam-retweeting this one reality show, where a group of guys were playing a challenge where they have to jump and pose to take a picture shot. They were supposed to pose various of expressions and some of them were very funny looking, because they all look very pretty but in the picture they look very stupid and comical. Here are some of the previews:

I saw some of them and thought to myself "fuck this looked very stupid and funny lmao this one episode seemed funny I ain't have nothing to do anyway". So the next day I asked one of my colleagues whom I know follows K-Pop quite well and asked her where can I watch this. I still remembers she said she doesn't know. So I thought oh this probably is not some popular K-Pop idols. But I'm still very intrigued by it so I asked my internet friend who retweeted this, and she showed me the link to this particular episode.
If you're as intrigued as I am, worry not I got your back covered. Here's the video with subtitle on:
Although not really understanding what is happening and whom is whom (mediocre problem, all people who don't follow them will always think they all look the same) I still thoroughly enjoy watching it and laughed cause of how they act. And from this particular episode, the general knowledge is learned; I know they called BTS, I know they are a group of 7 people, and I know that some of them looked really cute////// but whatever. They're pretty. They're cute. And that's what all K-Pop idols were supposed to look like. Nothing special. Moving on.
After watching this one episode, I continued watching their other episodes, thinking it would be as funny as this one. But in fact, this episode were the funniest. Others were just meh. Cause I don't know them well, I'm not that interested anymore so I stopped watching.
Cause I already know this particular BTS name, I tried searching for their songs on Spotify and start searching them on Youtube as well; fuck am I surprised to see that they were actually quite hype around the internet; there were even some popular videos of how famous Youtubers reacting to them (read: FUCKING PEWDIEPIE AND FINEBROSREACT???)
HOLY????
THEY EVEN GO TO ELLEN????? WHICH IS LIKE, WHAT????
Wow shit, this is serious, I thought to myself. This K-Pop group is popular, and I know absolutely nothing about it. How? And what makes them so famous apart from their pretty faces?
I don't know where else should I find out, so I go back to the one and only place I found out about them at the first place, and that is none other than my internet friend, Clarissa to be exact. (YO, CLARO HI LMAO U HAVE TO BE INCLUDED!!!)
From her Twitter, I actually found out BTS is not only popular; they're silly as well; which is very rare to see K-pop idol being stupid and silly in front of the screen. How stupid, you ask? See for yourself:
THIS IS EXACTLY MY SITUATION RIGHT NOW?? LIKE??
LMAO and from then on, I started to like them. And it grew even more each days, as they are really full of surprises as you get to know them more.
I'm not going to break down and introduces them one by one as you can search it online; there were probably thousands of websites out there that give down the personal information of each members. I will reason down why I particularly stan BTS after this music video of them giving out hearts while singing Go Go; one of my favourite songs that I like at the early days when I just know them (tips: look at the reff part where they sing YOLO YOLO YOLO YAH):

WHY YOU SHOULD START LOVING BTS
1. Their album is based on self-loving encouragement
This is more of a serious, and most crucial point that I want to highlight. Apart from all the goofy doofy side I showed you guys, their songs also contains high quality of lyrics and arrangements and a lot of good, encouraging messages, compared to current pop songs that only sings nothing but love story. Started from their album Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa, their music videos also includes mysteries after mysteries of story plot that until this day, is never resolved or answered. All in all, the way they creates music inspires people to follow and appreciate.
2. Each of them are a very sweet and humble person.
//Oh look at Susan now acting as if she knows them well and best friends with them//
Bitch, no. They got reality shows. And they also got travelling shows which can see who they truly are, outside of stage. As much as the show is being scripted/arranged, you can see each of the members is actually sweet to each other. For a simple example I remember there's an episode where 2 of the members were being punished and told to hike mountains in the early morning. Knowing it will be very cold and hard to find food, their eldest member, Jin, decided to wake up way before them and start preparing food for them to bring. If that is not sweet then I don't know what is.
omfg seokjin is too precious. namjoon and taehyung’s punishment was to climb up a mountain so jin woke up early in the morning to make them lunch. what an angel pic.twitter.com/pawharWQyx— jin love bot (@babyjincafe) March 13, 2018
Also a lot of times where members are sad/crying on stage others will come and give a bear/group hug. It warms my heart~~~~~
3. They all came from nothing to something.
~~~ QUIZ TIME ~~~
Who is the son of a farmer among the BTS members?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You probably have no shit clue since you also probably just discovered this band not 2 minutes ago. The answer is my all time favourite bias and that is Kim Tae Hyung, unexpectedly crowned as the most handsome man in all over the world 2017 & 2018, he actually came from small town in Korea named Daegu and he is a son of farmer. A mediocre person who got to where he is now from his blood, sweat and tears, and not because of some privileges/benefit inherit shit.
Not saying all members are peasants, but most of them all got to where they are now through hard times.
Also another example, their main rappers RM and Suga, are both coming from underground (?) rappers and got labelled as a failed commercial rappers and will never have success by joining a boyband / will never honor the rapping genre in the world. Well guess what undermining, underestimating, self entitled rappers who called out RM & Namjoon back in the day, who just released another one mixtape not this year? And what have you achieved?
----
I'm not going to add more, although there are still some more, definitely, but the three that I mentioned above, are 3 of the main reasons why I not just stanning their looks, but everytime they released something I also appreciate because they just simply deserved it. They're not coming from the biggest entertainment /well-known agency in Seoul, yet they achieved the recognition worldwide and have been doing world tour for the past 2-3 years. They are way more popular than any K-pop bands existing currently, and that means something.
That means maybe, just maybe. This K-pop band that you never bat an eye on, should be anytime soon now.
